We stock, fabricate, and install FAAC-compatible welded components across Miami, with most welding and fabrication jobs running $180 – $460 installed depending on the part and the extent of the repair. Same-day service is available for most gate frame and hinge failures, since we carry raw steel stock, a portable welder, and FAAC-specific mounting plates on the truck. The typical call starts the same way: the gate sags an inch lower than it used to, scrapes the driveway on the swing, or a hinge bracket shears off after a few years of salt air and humidity eating at the welds.
If your FAAC gate is hanging crooked, dragging, or the operator arm ripped loose from the gate leaf, that’s a welding failure, not an opener brain problem. We fix it at the steel, not just at the control board.
Which FAAC Models This Applies To
Welding work on FAAC systems almost always falls into three areas: the gate frame itself, the hinge plates and posts, or the operator mounting bracket where the piston or arm connects to the leaf. The FAAC models we see most often in Miami are the 400, 402, 412, 415, 770, S418, and the C720/C721 slide operators, but the welding side rarely cares about the opener model. What matters is the steel: how thick it is, what it’s bolted to, and whether the original weld was ever properly prepped.
One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: FAAC swing operators on residential gates typically mount to a 3/16-inch or 1/4-inch steel plate welded or bolted to the gate frame. If you’ve got a hollow aluminum gate (common in newer Miami HOAs), you can’t just weld steel to it without a transition bracket or an isolation plate, otherwise the dissimilar metals corrode within two years. We keep pre-cut 1/4-inch steel mounting plates and aluminum-safe isolation pads on the truck for exactly this.
OEM FAAC brackets are fine, but for most Miami repairs a properly fabricated equivalent plate outlasts the factory part because we’re cutting for the actual post position and gate weight, not a generic template. We quote you the choice either way before any work starts.

Signs Your FAAC Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags visibly at the free end. This usually means a hinge weld has stretched or cracked, not that the post moved. Salt air is unforgiving to a thin weld. If you see a hairline crack in the heat-affected zone around a hinge barrel, it’s already failing.
- The gate scrapes concrete or drags along the drive. Worn hinge bearings do this, but so does a hinge plate that’s bending under the gate’s weight. In Coral Gables and Coconut Grove tree-lined lots, even a small root shift underneath the post changes the geometry enough to stress welds.
- You hear a metallic pop or creak when the gate moves. That sound is metal-on-metal movement at a joint that shouldn’t move. By the time it pops, the weld has already broken on one edge and is working like a hinge itself.
- The operator arm pulled its mounting bracket off the gate. This is a common FAAC failure point in Miami because repeated wind gusts slam the gate against the stops and shock-load the bracket. A fresh bracket plus a reinforced backing plate solves it permanently.
- Rust blooms at the weld seams. If welded steel wasn’t properly primed and painted, Miami’s salt air starts the corrosion clock immediately. A powder-coated gate can hide this for years until the section simply rots through.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s the honest pricing picture for FAAC welding and fabrication work in the Miami metro:
- Hinge bracket replacement (single hinge): $120 – $180
- Operator mounting plate fabrication and install: $160 – $240
- Gate frame crack repair (weld and reinforce): $180 – $280
- Post-to-hinge weld rework and alignment: $220 – $380
- Full gate leaf re-hang with new fabricated hinge plates: $340 – $460
The range comes down to steel thickness, access (some Brickell driveway gates sit tight against walls), and whether the existing material is sound enough to weld or needs a reinforcing plate added. You get the written price before we strike an arc, and the number on the invoice is the same number you approved. Every weld carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year from material or workmanship, we return at no charge. That’s written on the job sheet, not implied.
DIY or Call Us?
You can inspect hinges for cracks, look for rust blooms, and check whether the gate leans when it’s halfway open, that’s all useful and safe. What you shouldn’t do is run a welder on a gate that’s still bolted to an energized FAAC operator, or try to weld a cracked hinge without releasing the gate’s tension and supporting the leaf. A swinging gate can take a finger or crush a hand if it shifts mid-repair. High heat near the operator wiring also risks damaging the control board, which turns a $200 weld into a $700 opener replacement.

FAQs
A properly prepped, primed, and painted weld on a FAAC gate in Miami typically lasts 8 to 12 years before showing meaningful corrosion or fatigue, though coastal properties within a mile of the water may need touch-up paint every 3 to 4 years regardless of weld quality. We use zinc-rich primer and marine-grade enamel as standard. Call (850) 821-3781 and we’ll assess your specific setup.
Yes, if the surrounding steel is sound and the crack hasn’t propagated more than an inch, we can grind out the crack, weld it, and add a gusset plate for reinforcement. If the bracket is rusted through or the gate has been sagging long enough to oval the bolt holes, replacement is the honest fix. We’ll show you the difference before quoting either path.
Most single-part welding repairs on a FAAC gate take 90 minutes to 3 hours on site, including cool-down and paint. A full gate re-hang with fabricated hinge plates can run half a day. You get a live, trackable arrival time, not a four-hour window, and before-and-after photos of the repair.
We stock raw steel plate, hinge barrels, and FAAC-compatible mounting hardware on the truck, plus a range of OEM and equivalent parts for FAAC, LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls systems across our Miami service area. If it’s a niche piece we don’t have, we source it and schedule the install, with the price agreed before we order.
