We stock and install LiftMaster-compatible welded components for gate systems throughout Miami, with most fabrication work running $140 – $480 installed depending on the bracket, hinge, or mount that failed. The honest range matters because “welding and fabrication” usually means one specific broken piece on your gate: a cracked hinge plate, a torn post bracket, or a twisted arm that connects the opener to the gate leaf. You’ll hear it before you see it most days, a louder-than-normal groan when the gate cycles, or a visible sag where the gate sits lower on one side than it did six months ago.
What usually happened is simple stress over years. Miami salt air and humidity accelerate metal fatigue. A galvanized bracket that might last fifteen years in a dry climate gives up after eight or ten here. When it fails, the fix is rarely a whole new opener. It’s the welded steel piece that carries the load. That’s what we fabricate and install, often same day when the part is on the truck.
Which LiftMaster Models This Applies To
LiftMaster’s gate lineup splits into three families that share certain hardware but differ in load and geometry. The LA400 and LA412 swing gate openers use a post-mount bracket and a gate bracket that bolt and weld to the post and gate respectively. The SL3000 and SL585 slide gate line uses a different setup entirely: a heavy rack along the gate’s length and a drive sprocket that wears rather than breaks. The older CSL24V and the current residential swing models are where we see most fabrication requests, because those arm assemblies and hinge points absorb the full force of a moving gate every cycle.
To identify what you need, look for the model number on the opener’s control board or the sticker on the motor housing. The bracket itself won’t tell you much if it’s twisted beyond recognition. What matters more is the gate’s weight and swing direction, because a bracket fabricated for a 300-pound gate has to be proportionally thicker than one for a 150-pound gate. For LiftMaster specifically, genuine OEM brackets are cast or stamped and cost more. Quality aftermarket steel, formed and welded by a shop that works with gate systems daily, often outlasts OEM in coastal Miami because we add a corrosion-resistant primer and coating the factory piece sometimes skips. The decision comes down to what’s available locally and what your gate actually weighs.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your LiftMaster Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- Sagging gate on the hinge side that worsens monthly. The hinge weld is cracking. The gate drops a fraction of an inch, then more. You’re looking at a failing welded joint, not a hinge pin, and it will not self-correct.
- Loud pop or snap when the gate starts moving. That’s often a bracket bolt shearing or a weld finally letting go. The gate still moves because the opener keeps pulling, but the geometry is changing with every cycle.
- Gate opener arm visibly angled upward or downward. A properly mounted arm runs level. When the bracket bends, the arm tilts and puts wrong-direction force on the opener’s gearbox. Left alone, this turns a $200 bracket job into an $800 opener replacement.
- Rust staining or flaking metal around weld points. Salt air and tropical downpours accelerate rust at the exact spots where heat from welding burned off the factory coating. Once paint blisters and flakes, Miami humidity does the rest within a season.
- Gate oscillates or shudders mid-travel. The opener is fighting a bent or broken bracket. The motor compensates, the gate vibrates, and the strain cycles back through every welded component until the next one fails.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Miami, expect to pay between $140 and $480 for most LiftMaster fabrication replacements. A simple gate bracket runs $140 – $220 including the fabricated piece and installation. A hinge plate or post-mount repair lands around $180 – $280. A custom arm or multi-point bracket for a heavier gate runs $300 – $480, and that price includes trimming, welding, grinding, and a corrosion-resistant finish. The range exists because every gate is different: a 16-foot wrought-iron gate in Coconut Grove costs more than a 10-foot aluminum gate in Hialeah.
We write the price before anything moves, per our standard on every job. You get the line item for the fabricated part, the labor, and any hardware. No surprise add-ons at the end. The work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the weld or the part fails within a year, we’re back at no charge. Written guarantee, stated on the invoice, zero fine print.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely do is inspect: look for rust blooms at weld points, check if the gate sits level, watch the arm while the gate cycles. That tells you whether you’re likely dealing with a bracket issue or something else entirely. What you shouldn’t do is grind off a broken bracket and re-weld it yourself unless you weld regularly. Gates are heavy. A bracket that fails under load doesn’t fall nicely, it whips toward the hinge or the opener, and the swing arc of a 300-pound gate leaf is not where you want to be standing. High-tension fabrications deserve a trained hand.
If the gate works but the metal is failing, call us at (850) 821-3781. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s fabricate-and-install on the spot or a longer job.
FAQs
A properly fabricated and coated steel bracket lasts 8 – 12 years in Miami’s salt-air environment. Galvanized factory brackets often wear thin around year 8, especially within three miles of Biscayne Bay. We coat every fabricated piece with a marine-grade primer and finish, which extends coastal life meaningfully. Call (850) 821-3781 if yours is showing early rust.
Sometimes yes, if the surrounding metal is thick enough to hold a clean weld. Thin or heavily corroded brackets should be replaced rather than welded, because the weld becomes stronger than the metal around it and just moves the failure point a few inches away. We’ll tell you which one you have after looking at it.
Most bracket and hinge fabrications run 1.5 – 3 hours on site once the gate is measured and the old part removed. Heavier custom arms or post-mount repairs that require removing the gate leaf can run half a day. We’ll give you a realistic window before we start, not after.
We carry the steel stock, welding equipment, and common LiftMaster bracket patterns on the truck, so a standard swing-gate bracket gets fabricated and installed same day in most Miami neighborhoods. If a part is highly specialized, we fabricate it and schedule the install within a day or two. We also keep parts for Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing systems, so a multi-brand property doesn’t need multiple vendors.
